OUR STORY
OUR STORY
The name “JM:12” reflects both his initials and his age, serving as a lasting reminder of why this work matters.
Jawon’s story exposed the urgent need for stronger mentorship, structured guidance, and positive developmental support for young males during their most formative years. In response, JM:12 was created to transform grief into purpose and to ensure that more young men are equipped with the tools, relationships, and life skills necessary to build safe, productive, and meaningful futures.
Every initiative at JM:12 exists to honor Jawon’s memory by investing in prevention, empowerment, and opportunity. We believe that with consistent mentorship, accountability, and skills development, young men can overcome barriers and change the trajectory of their lives.
JM:12 stands as both a tribute and a commitment, and that no young man’s potential should be lost due to a lack of support, guidance, or opportunity.
