Life Skills Development Initiative

The JM:12 Life Skills Development Initiative equips young men with practical competencies necessary for independent adulthood, workforce readiness, and civic responsibility.

This initiative addresses a documented gap in access to structured life skills education for adolescent and transitional-age males, particularly those from under-resourced communities. Through workshops, applied learning experiences, and experiential programming, participants develop core competencies in:

• Financial literacy and personal budgeting
• Career exploration and workforce preparedness
• Resume development and interview readiness
• Professional communication and workplace etiquette
• Time management and personal accountability
• Decision-making and problem-solving strategies
• Community engagement and civic responsibility

Programming is designed to be hands-on, measurable, and outcomes-oriented. Participants set individualized development goals and engage in skill-based exercises that translate directly into real-world applications.

The Life Skills Development Initiative seeks to achieve:
• Increased financial literacy competency
• Improved workforce readiness indicators
• Enhanced communication and professionalism skills
• Stronger self-efficacy and personal responsibility

By integrating mentorship with applied life skills training, JM:12 ensures that young men are not only supported emotionally but also prepared practically for academic, career, and life success.
